Sister Act- October 2022

Loreto Grammar School proudly presented Sister Act in October 2022.

This was our first production, post-pandemic. Sister Act was the perfect choice for us. This musical comedy is packed full of energizing and soulful music, which is exactly what is needed, following the past two years. This uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical and features original music by eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors).

Sister Act is a sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship. Our wonderful cast featured students from Loreto Grammar School, Christian Brothers Grammar School and Omagh Academy and certainly genuine friendships blossomed throughout our rehearsals. The entire cast were a pleasure to work with and their dedication, enthusiasm, work ethic, joy and passion was truly remarkable to behold.

Thoroughly Modern Millie 2017

Our talented students took to the Strule Arts stage to perform a high spirited musical, filled with top-tapping tunes and lots of laugh-out-loud moments. The hilarious musical, ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ was performed by our students as well as a number of boys from CBS, Omagh Academy and Drumragh Integrated College.

The comical musical is set in 1920’s America. It features a spirited lady called Millie Dillmount (played by Megan Burns) who moves from Kansas to New York in search of a brand new life and of course a wealthy husband. However, her plan goes completely awry.

The large cast of 60 talented students was made up from years 9 to 14.
