Year 13 R.E: Faith Development Programme

At Post 16 the R.E Programme has key features:

  • An adult parish-based programme.
  • Teachers as facilitators.
  • Wide range of speakers and organizations.
  • Personal, social and moral issues.
  • Building community in Year 13.
  • Students plan, implement and evaluate.

Outreach projects are designed to complement the Year 13 Programme.

Students choose one option from the list below and are invited to become involved in outreach to the local and wider community.

  2. St Vincent de Paul Group
  3. Faith-friend to P.4 First Communion Class in Holy Family P.S
  4. Faith-friend to P.7 Confirmation Class in Holy Family P.S
  5. Parish Outreach Programme
  6. Friend to a pupil at Arvalee

All Year 13 students are offered the opportunity to complete the Pope John Paul II Award for social action and service in parish.

The Year 14 R.E. programme consists of three units which rotate every eight weeks. The units are devised as direct preparation for the transition to college and cover social and moral issues and some of the challenges faced.

The units are delivered to groups of 15-20 students to allow for maximum discussion and for effective peer group ministry.
