The Media Industry is one of the largest employers in the world. There are a wide range of possible careers associated with the study of media: Advertisements, Public Relations, Radio, Television, Journalism, Marketing and Teaching to name but a few. In fact, this subject lends itself to any medium of communication and, with the continuing development of digital technology, the opportunities for work are expanding.
As part of the new GCE specification, pupils will have the opportunity to produce media texts across different technological platforms (print, e-media, film and radio), discuss and debate contemporary issues and develop their critical understanding of the theoretical framework of the Media Industry.
