In fact, this subject lends itself to any medium of communication and, with the continuing development of digital technology, the opportunities for work are expanding.

This subject provides a coherent introduction to the study of creative digital media production. Learners will have the opportunity to pitch and produce their own media projects, analyse media representations across various platforms and learn from industry professionals.

This qualification is a two-year programme and is equivalent in size to one A-Level.

Method of Assessment

Learners will study four units over the two years.

  • Set tasks – learners take the assessment during a defined window and demonstrate understanding through completion of a vocational task

In internally assessed units, learners will be given the opportunity to:

  • Write up the findings of their own research

  • Use case studies to explore complex or unfamiliar situations

  • Plan and produce projects for which they have choice over the direction and outcomes

  • Demonstrate practical and technical skills using appropriate tools/processes
